We provide an accountant's reference letter or accountant's certificate for purposes such as mortgage applications, rental agreements, or self-employment verification. This service is designed for our existing clients to support their mortgage applications, confirm their self-employed status, or provide verification when they are renting out a new property.

REFERENCE REQUESTS REGARDING CLIENTS' FINANCIAL STATUS

Lenders (i.e. banks, building societies), insurance companies, letting agents and others may seek references from your accountant regarding your financial status. We often get asked to produce a reference letter, which confirms that we act for the client, along with the details of their income, i.e. business profits, salary and dividend income. Some lenders ask us to fill in their specific form, which certifies the client's income. They are most often used for company directors and serve to 'prove' the company accounts or other information provided. 

ACCOUNTANT'S REFERENCE FOR MORTGAGE, RENTING AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT 

The accountant's reference must be completed and signed by a suitably qualified accountant. As an AIA accredited practice, we are recognised by the majority of UK banks and building societies as qualified to sign the accounts of clients seeking finance, mortgages, or other supporting documentation. In cases where the requests concern factual information about accounting periods declared to HMRC in a tax return or the case of accounts already been submitted with Companies House, we are generally able to help. However, it is important to note that we retain the discretion to decline providing a reference if there is insufficient information available or if our understanding of the client is limited, particularly in instances where our engagement with them has been relatively recent.
