We provide an accountant’s reference letter or accountant’s certificate for purposes such as mortgage applications, rental agreements, or self-employment verification. This service is available exclusively to our existing clients to support their mortgage applications, confirm their self-employed status, or provide verification when renting a new property.

REFERENCE REQUESTS REGARDING CLIENTS' FINANCIAL STATUS

Lenders (such as banks and building societies), insurance companies, letting agents, and other organisations may seek references from an accountant regarding a client’s financial position.

We are frequently asked to produce a reference letter confirming that we act for the client, along with details of their income, such as business profits, salary, and dividend income.

Some lenders request that we complete their own standard form, certifying the client’s income. These are most often used for company directors to verify company accounts or other financial information provided.

ACCOUNTANT'S REFERENCE FOR MORTGAGE, RENTING AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT 

An accountant’s reference must be completed and signed by a suitably qualified accountant. As an AIA accredited practice, we are recognised by the majority of UK banks and building societies as qualified to sign the accounts of clients seeking finance, mortgages, or other supporting documentation. If a request relates to factual information already declared to HMRC in a tax return, or to accounts already submitted to Companies House, we are generally able to assist.

However, please note that we may decline to provide a reference if there is insufficient information available or if our knowledge of the client’s affairs is limited, particularly where our engagement with them has been recent.
